Teacher
I am a teacher of piano, clarinet, saxophone and music theory. I teach classical, jazz, pop, rock, musical theatre and more from beginners to diploma level, specialising in adult learners and students progressing to higher levels and new skills.
“Matt has been a great piano teacher for my ten year old son.
He has encouraged and inspired him in his love of improvisation, whilst simultaneously keeping him on track learning all the necessary sight-reading and keyboard skills to progress through the graded exams.
Matt relates really well to him, and my son always looks forward to his lessons.
Thoroughly recommended!”
Looking to take an examination or qualification? No problem! I have an outstanding record of achievement with students taking examinations on all instruments and music theory, especially the dreaded ABRSM Grade 5 theory!
“Matt seems to have absolutely cracked the secret of getting kids through Grade 5 theory.
There was no drama, no tears, no need for parental input and no homework. Just learning from Matt once a week, going over papers, was enough to get them through.
He’s a music theory magician – he knows all the tricks – and I would recommend him without hesitation.”
However, if you are just looking to play for enjoyment, I can create a bespoke, personalised lesson plan that will enable you to get the most out of your instrument.
Most of all, learning an instrument or music theory with Matthew is fun and enjoyable – just how music is supposed to be!
